Self Care Made Simple.
Having almost 4 teenagers is a whole new season of life that's been really hard. But 2 years ago God gifted us with another baby after 10 years with none, and I always say "she's exactly what we didn't know we needed in our family". Josie is such a joy and having her in our family has brought out the best in my big kids. They love her fiercely and in their "most selfish" stage of life as teenagers they have joyfully stepped up to help with Josie, to get down on the ground and play with her, to laugh with her, to teach her right from wrong, to comfort her and encourage her. On the days when the big kids may be driving me bonkers, I see their love for Josie and I am reminded that this too shall pass and I try to soak up those precious moments!Â
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29: 1
Growing up as a Missionary. I got to experience so many different cultures and visit some amazing places and see miracles along the way.Â
My amazing husband fixes my coffee every morning before he leaves for work - it's not only the sweet taste of the coffee but the love that went into making it that I cherish each day!
My mantra since the kids were small has been "little victories"! Just knowing that we can celebrate the little steps forward when it comes to parenting, work, relationships and life has been so important for me.
I would definitely spend a day with Jesus. I can only imagine what a fun and dynamic man he was. I would love to watch him interact with people and see what advice he would have specifically for me.
I feel like our life is a funny story ;) With 5 kids ages 18, 15, 14, 12 and 2, we have had lots of ups, downs, disappointments and surprises! I try to laugh as often as I can. I want my kids to know that life will be fun and amazing, but also hard and unfair at times, and no matter what life throws at you - laughing together and being silly is medicine for the soul!!
I don't really have any hobbies as of now (or ever)- but I would say one of my gifts is reaching out when someone needs a meal or sending some groceries when someone needs a bit of a break. I remember when I was in the thick of motherhood with a 6 year old and three more babies under 3 - I knew that when that season of my life was over I wanted to reach out to help others in that same season because I knew how hard it can get. I love seeing who God puts in my path and being able to pass on simple acts of kindness in their time of need.
I've always wanted to visit Ireland! My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in May and we made a pact that before our 25th we will visit Ireland!
Well - I kind of know the founder (my sister in law!!). But I was at dinner and asked Brooke what she was up to and she mentioned she was making some all natural skincare and hoped to make it into a business!! I was thrilled for her and knew that I not only wanted to try the products but I wanted in on the mission of the business. That's how I got hired!! I think the first thing I tried was the face wash and I haven't used any other face wash since! I was hooked.
Knowing the care and quality that goes into the products because I know the back end of the process. I love the results and how I finally have created a skincare routine that's doable for myself.
I love the face wash and how moisturizing it is, and the coffee scrub that I use to exfoliate my skin. I've gotten lots of compliments on how "young" my skin looks, and as a 41 year old mom of 5 that's a bonus!!
We hope you've enjoyed getting to know Mary!
